You will find barbecue areas dotted along many sections of the trail, and some also offer shelters and access to water. The landscape of Kin- nekulle is made up of old untouched spruce forest, deci- duous forest and open meadows, and you are also treated to breathtaking views of Lake Vänern. Hindens Rev – is a 5 kmpromontory extending out into Lake Vänern. The footpathwinds its way between roots and stones out to the tip, before finally disappearing into the lake. Fröfjorden is one of several picturesque trails on Kållandsö island. It takes you through pleasant countryside and close to the lake shore and is ideal for hikers who want to use public transport. Bus 132 stops 190 metres from the star- ting point of the trail. The Biosphere Trail is ideal for both hiking and cycling. Covering 136 km, it takes you from Läckö Castle, via Lid- köping and Kinnekulle, to Mariestad. You may encounter vehicular traffic along certain stretches, but large sections of the trail are practically car-free. The mountain-bike trails on Kinnekulle run through ma- gical forests and open meadows and along rugged tracks – sometimes with challenging gradients. Start your tour at Högkullen, where you will find an information board to help choose your route for the day. Go kayaking around the coastline of Kållandsö island and keep an eye out for sea eagles and ospreys. There’s a good chance of finding your own personal island for the day – after all there are plenty to go around! Naven Out- door Experience at Naven and Läckö Castle both offer kayak hire and courses. The golf courses in Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle are of a high standard, with beautiful scenery to be enjoyed as you play.
