Hiking Kinnekulle There are numerous hiking trails on Kinnekulle of different lengths and through varied scenery. The longest of these is the Kinnekulle hiking trail, which is 48 km and takes you right around the mountain. Högkullen, which is the highest point, has shorter trails offering great views, and there are also trails that take you close to the shore of Lake Vänern. The choice is yours. Kållandsö Kållandsö has four hiking trails that all run close to Lake Vänern along their route. The shortest route is 3 km, while the longest is 12 km, so simply choose whichever is right for you. Hindens Rev Hindens Rev is an ultra-narrow promontory exten- ding straight out into Lake Vänern. You can hike along it for 5 km straight out into the lake, and the width of it varies from 25 to 100 metres. A truly amazing experience. Mountain biking Kinnekulle Cycling is a great way to get out and explore Kinnekulle. You can experience the “flowering mountain”, its unique geology and the wonderful views amidst fantastic scenery. There are five mountain-biking trails of different lengths and levels of difficulty. The shortest is 1 km and the longest is 46 km. Råda Råda Ås recreation area has much to discover. This large forested area offers mountain-biking trails through scenic landscapes just 5 km from the centre of Lidköping. There are four trails of between 4.4 km and 8.6 km, with varying levels of difficulty. Canoeing Gliding across Lake Vänern in a kayak or canoe is a truly special feeling. There are more than 22,000 islands, islets and skerries just waiting to be explored. The Kallandso archipelago is dense and offers calm paddling conditions even in breezy weather, while the open waters of the lake and the outer islands and skerries are only a few hundred metres away.
