Play helps them to build self-confidence and relationships with others. Play has no boun- daries,” says Jecko. Taking inspiration from American carnivals, they’ve created an inviting, fun-filled environ- ment. “Jecko & Jessie’s relatives were also entertai- ners and the idea is to give the feeling that the play centre is filled with their old things.” Joakim, originally from the Lidköping region, and Karin, from Switzerland, met at a circus festival. When the couple needed to settle somewhere permanent for the sake of their 14-year-old daughter, they decided on Lidköping. “It’s safe, and easy to get help and access to large spaces for our practice and equipment – just a couple of the benefits of Lidköping.” Jecko & Jessie, oder Joakim Assarsson und Karin Odermatt, wie sie eigentlich heißen, schaffenmitihremSpielparkRaumzumToben, Spielen, Spaß haben. - „Kinder bewegen sich heutzutage viel zu wenig. Im Spiel erwerben sie Selbstvertrauen und Sozialkompetenz. Im Spiel gibt es keine Grenzen“, erklärt Jecko. Inspiriert von amerikanischen Jahrmärkten haben sie eine Anlage geschaffen, die zum Spielen und Toben einlädt. - „Die Vorfahren von Jecko & Jessie waren ebenfalls Varietékünstler. Im Spielpark soll der Eindruck entstehen, dass sich ihre alten Sachen noch hier befinden.“ Joakim aus Lidköping und die Schweizerin Karin lernten sich auf einem Zirkusfestival kennen.
