www.lackokinnekulle.se • 3 WE L C OM E 1. Läckö Castle – a fairy-tale castle on the shore of Lake Vänern. Wander round the castle and its gardens, enjoy good food or attend an event. There’s something for all the family here. 2. Hindens rev – a rocky promontory extending five kilometres out into Lake Vänern. A fabulous place for walking all year round. 3. The Old Town Hall – this unique building, said to have been Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie’s hunting lodge, sits on the square in the heart of Lidköping. 4. Stora quarry – our very own “grand canyon”. A former quarry 40 metres deep with 400 years of history embedded in the lower layers of limestone. 5. Spiken fishing harbour – one of the largest fishing harbours in Europe. In the summer it’s the place to come for freshly smoked fish, crafts and local food as you wander round the fishing huts. 6. Munkängarna – one of Kinnekulle’s 18 nature reserves, in early summer it’s alive with the scent of wild garlic under the leafy trees. A beautiful place to visit all year round. 7. Rörstrand Museum – a new opening of the museum in 2022, celebrating the jewel in the crown of Swedish porcelain, Rörstrand, and its almost 300 years of porcelain history. 8. Vänermuseet – a museum celebrating Sweden’s biggest lake and the town of Lidköping. Exciting exhibitions and activities reflecting life in, on and beside the lake all year round. 9. Husaby – this village boasts a unique church with an 11th century tower, the ruins of Biskopsborgen fort from the 12th century, and St Sigfrid’s Well where rumour has it Sweden’s first Christian king, Olof Skötkonung, was baptised.
